My Approach to Helping

My approach to therapy is deeply relational and collaborative with a focus on attachment. I feel a safe and strong therapeutic relationship is the most important element of therapy to create an environment that makes growth possible. I currently use various interventions and techniques from different theories depending on what the client’s goals are in order to be client-centered, including DBT, CBT, EMDR, Ego State Therapy, Attachment theory and Polyvagal theory.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Many of the things we work on in the therapy room are directly related to the impacts of the external systems we are a part of, such as white supremacy and capitalism. For this reason I strongly believe an abolitionist, anti-racist and health at every size perspective is important to move toward healing and liberation in this work and aligns with my values outside of the therapy room as well. When I am not in session with clients I can be found puzzling, tinkering with my plants, reading, playing basketball or spending time with my senior dog on a very slow walk.
