My Ideal Client

I work with a range of issues (depression, anxiety, addiction, creativity/inspiration, relationships, job stress, grief/loss) and offer both long- and short-term therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their current experience and to identify realistic steps to facilitate change in order to better serve life goals. I encourage active engagement in treatment to better support greater and long-term desired change and will serve as an advocate on your behalf in these pursuits.

My Approach to Helping

My main clinical approach is an integration of psychodynamic (working through influential and unresolved issues from early development), existentialist (we all want to find meaning in our lives), person-centered (congruency between how you see yourself and how others see you), and Core Energetics styles of therapy (somatic focus on finding and unblocking stuck energy in the body, with a goal of greater connection to a unified consciousness, defined as “spirituality”), with empathy and mindfulness about the unique expressions of different cultures and a belief in social justice. This model supports deeply personalized, in-depth work of current concerns, past history, symbolic material, creative energy and expression, and the unconscious. I find this holistic approach invaluable in the process of healing and reconnecting with your vitality and unique modes of self-expression.

My Values as a Therapist

It is important that I learn about the context in which my clients are embedded in order to fully understand their lives and how best to co-create an authentic and supportive therapeutic relationship. My goal is to facilitate a safe space to explore past wounding and present concerns in a collaborative, curious, and non-judgmental way. I honor the roles that personal relationships, family histories, unique cultures, intersectional identities, and systems of power and oppression play in helping us shape who we are, or keep us from safely finding meaning and grounding into our lives. I will support you coming into greater awareness and embodiment of an identity that best fits your sense of being.
