My Ideal Client

I work with adults, couples, and complex relationship structures seeking clear, measurable change. My approach is CBT-based, structured, and outcomes-focused. I integrate racial, cultural, and power dynamics into treatment, helping high-functioning clients move out of stuck patterns and into more intentional ways of living and relating.

My Approach to Helping

My approach to therapy is structured, collaborative, and focused on outcomes. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify patterns in thinking and behavior that contribute to distress, and to develop practical strategies for change. I work with clients to define clear goals and track progress over time, ensuring that therapy remains purposeful and effective. I am not a hand holder: I am here to help you get things done. At the same time, I integrate an understanding of racial, cultural, and power dynamics, recognizing that many challenges are shaped by lived experience, not just internal processes. I balance validation with accountability, supporting clients while also challenging unhelpful patterns. Whether working with individuals or relationships, my goal is to help clients build insight, strengthen skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Why I Became a Therapist

I am an immigrant from Dominican Republic. I grew up without any awareness of mental health-related issues. It was just something we never spoke about. That is still true in many countries and even in pockets of the United States. If I had grown up with an understanding of the importance of caring for my mental health I would have been better served by my various communities. Now I am looking to provide the guidance, knowledge and support I wish I had, hoping to make this journey called life much easier for others, specially for my people: The BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrants and first generation folks of the world.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

The way you think has everything to do with the way you behave. What narratives are you telling yourself about you, them, or the situation? Is what you are telling yourself the absolute truth? Let's identify your internal narratives and question them. When your thinking is aligned with the truth, your behavior serves you.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

I specialize in anxiety and panic and have lived experience with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and panic attacks. I understand how overwhelming they can feel. Using CBT and practical tools, I help clients reduce frequency, intensity, and duration, and build confidence in managing symptoms over time.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

I work extensively with LGBTQ+ clients and identify as queer. I integrate lived experience with clinical skill to address identity, relationships, and the impact of stigma and power dynamics. My work is affirming, structured, and focused on meaningful, lasting change.
