My Ideal Client

I love working with people who know they could benefit from spending less time in their heads, and more time in their bodies! Some of my clients are artists who are struggling to find a way to live authentically in capitalist society. Other clients come to me burdened by betrayals and attachment wounds that have crippled their capacity for the deep intimacy and stability they crave with others. I deeply understand the nightmare of living with PTSD, especially when it impacts relationships.

My Approach to Helping

Whether your dominant experience is crippling anxiety, depression or PTSD (classic or complex), integrating the practice of tuning into the nervous system can be life-changing. My approach has two pillars and a foundation. Its pillars are a somatic-based trauma therapy modality called Somatic Experiencing, and attachment-based relational work. Both of these approaches are rooted in physiology and neuroscience. Yay science! But my foundation is in Jungian psychodynamic theory, heavy on making what's unconscious conscious, and learning to understand the ways we communicate with deeper parts of ourselves through experience. A little more grey, a little less black and white. I'm happy and able to work with people who need a really grounded holistic perspective to their mental health, as well as people who need someone who they can feel understood and honored by spiritually.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I come to the Mental Health field by way of the Peer Support paradigm. This means that I have and use my own lived experience with PTSD and mental health recovery as a guide in how I support you. It also means that leveling the power dynamic between us and treating you as the expert on your life you ultimately are is important to me. I know it's hard work to create a life you love out of devastation and pain. I have a background in Fine Art, I was and still am a painter and drawer and muser. In fact it was my deep study of what art is that first awoke my love for conceptual, psychological work. I also really love people, I think they're incredible and I'm endlessly fascinated by the variety in our experience as humans. I have experience with religious trauma and psychedelics that I bring to my work when relevant. I'm passionate about community and nature! In a time where our foundational institutions are obviously unreliable, I think it's imperative to be connected and supported.
