My Ideal Client

Are you between the ages of 7-100+ struggling w/ a traumatic event via nightmares, flashbacks, find yourself avoiding anything that reminds you of said trauma, etc.? Are you struggling with obsessive thoughts &/or actions taking up most of your time? 18+ year old couple trying to juggle life with communication issues getting in the way? There are evidence based treatments designed to help you heal.

My Approach to Helping

I am a trained behaviorist and anti-oppressive practitioner. Living in a capitalist and patriarchal society has created very clear struggles for those who do not identify as white straight cis-gender men, and I am not one to tell you that the reason you are where you are is strictly based on your behavior alone. Rather, I acknowledge the obstacles where they lay and remind my clients of the strength they have within so they may free themselves as they symbolically roll, climb, skip, jump, and leap over whatever or whoever was previously in their way using evidence based techniques to encourage success. I was trained by BECK institute in using CBT for Depression, EMDR (Level I & II, OCD, RTEP & more) to treat Anxiety, PTSD and OCD, as well as Gottman Method (Level I, II, & III) to address relationship issues.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My values really do center around my anti-oppressive practice mindset. The reason I became a social worker was the expectation to be involved in social justice. I am anti-abolitionist-volunteer with Black & Pink. I believe in evidence based treatment for mental health over a prison system that is simply modern day slavery. I am Veg -- I've volunteered with PETA, Nashville Animal Advocacy, & Anonymous for the Voiceless. I believe BLM - member of NAACP. I am bisexual. I have gone to Gender Odyssey for professional training to help trans folks. I am fluent in Spanish - la familia de mi corazón es chilena. I am heavily involved in abolishing ICE - peaceful protests with Buddhists outside of ICE facilities as well as I translated for Spanish speaking families to secure they would get the legal assistance. In short, I'm a lifelong activist for all of the living and Saint Teresa of Calcutta is my inspiration.
