My Ideal Client

Many insightful and capable people come to therapy when ways of coping that once helped, no longer do. They talk about anxious thoughts keeping them awake at 2:00 am, relationship cycles that feel stuck on repeat, overwhelm or burn out managing it all, missing that spark they remember once having. Insight is helpful, even relieving sometimes, but not always enough to make the full shifts we want. I love working with folks who would like meaningful change on a holistic, body and mind level!

My Approach to Helping

In our work together, we start by creating a connection comfortable enough to allow for curiosity and exploration of your experiences. We slow things down, breathe and work directly with the parts of you caught in painful thoughts, feelings or patterns of responding—so change isn’t just something you understand intellectually, but something you actually experience. We help your body and mind process what hasn’t been fully integrated so your past stops shaping your present. I'll bring in effective modalities including EMDR, Internal Family Systems and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with special care given to somatic release, to help you gain: -Nervous system relaxation -Practical tools for anxiety relief and real life change -Personal growth and expansion -Embodiment of clarity and confidence -Reconnection with your self and your passions -A greater sense of internal stability and improvement in your relationships

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist in Oregon and Washington, with 19 yrs of experience. I am grateful to be living my calling to serve and support those on their journey toward healing and self actualization. I have had the honor of working with a diversity of people in the legal system, a university counseling center, community mental health, Veteran's healthcare and multidisciplinary healthcare settings. I celebrate and affirm the LGBTQIA2S+ community and people of all abilities, races, sizes and socioeconomic backgrounds. I work from a lens of awareness of the layers of privilege and barriers that we navigate daily and how that creates both resilience and fatigue. My values drive me to remain in the growth and learning process around this matrix.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • PTSD External link

"Trauma is not what happens to us, but what happens inside of us" - Gabor Maté, MD Once enough safety exists in the container, we name and honor the survival strategies that once served you and are no longer required. We use effective therapies such as EMDR or IFS to unburden painful thoughts, feelings and physical sensations to allow for a return to your natural state of ease. Meeting these experiences with compassionate witnessing allows for release, integration and recovery.

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety can significantly impact our quality of life. General anxiety seems to follow us everywhere we go and more specific worries or phobias pop up and stop us in our tracks. Our work will illuminate the connections between the worries and fears that plague you now and the past experiences that created them. With care and compassion, we bring healing to those parts of you and unburden what's no longer needed. We reorient your awareness to the present where you can find ease.

  • Personal Growth External link

You don’t need be in crisis to come to therapy. Sometimes it’s about recognizing that something isn’t working and you feel out of sorts. You might be needing more meaning, deeper connections or find yourself seeking purpose. Perhaps each day feels the same as the last and you feel a bit lost; needing to recover the energy or inspiration you once had. This can be a place of self care, exploration and growth.
