My Ideal Client

Sometimes we find ourselves feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns in our mind, body, behavior or relationships. Other times we experience significant loss or an unexpected change in life. We can start to feel distant from ourselves, values and passions that get lost along the way. This can leave us feeling anxious, uninspired, disconnected, depressed or stuck. Therapy offers the comfort of navigating these challenges within the context of a safe and trusting relationship.

My Approach to Helping

I have noticed that many of our difficulties can be traced back to traumatic events, no matter how small, unhelpful programming as we developed, significant losses or not getting what we need to thrive. Underneath it all, we are balanced, loving, connected and healthy individuals with an inner knowing and power to heal. My passion is to help you reconnect with your wholeness and reach your goals in this process. As the stuck points become clear to you, we work towards releasing what does not serve you or processing what needs to be given attention and time, so you can be more present to yourself, your values and your relationships. My style has been described as a balance of empathic, straight forward and present.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • PTSD External link

"Trauma is not what happens to us, but what happens inside of us" - Gabor Maté, MD Effective trauma therapy helps us become more aware of what's happening inside, then moves toward effective coping, processing and post-traumatic growth. I use a combination of psycho-education, nervous system regulation training, EMDR and IFS in service of this approach.

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety disorders can significantly impact our quality of life. We can feel general anxiety that just seems to follow us around or more specific anxieties/phobias that prevent us from doing things. Coping skills, psycho-education, desensitization and deeper origin identification and release are effective ways to help. I utilize ACT in combination with IFS, EMDR and/or Exposure Response Therapy.

  • Personal Growth External link

Sometimes in life we find ourselves feeling uninspired, stuck in old patterns or dissatisfied with areas of our lives. Therapy can help you reconnect with your values and personal compass, to create new habits and expand your comfort zone to create the most meaningful life for you.
