My Ideal Client

If you are struggling with overwhelming feelings like intense sadness, loneliness and anxiety, I would love to support you. Grief can be sneaky and shows up in unexpected places and with unexpected emotions like exhaustion, fear, impatience, irritability and a desire to pull away from the world.

My Approach to Helping

I am here to help you find your way to more peace in your life. Grief is hard and it is especially hard in our culture that does not acknowledge what it really means to go through loss. I am someone who will work with you right where you are. I offer an eclectic approach. I draw from many types of therapies including mindfulness, narrative, person-centered, energy psychology and spirituality. Together we can discover and create strategies for coping that will help you live your best life possible even after loss and difficult life transitions. My educational background is in Counseling, Sociology and School Psychology. I have received specialized training in bereavement counseling, mindfulness and meditation. I am a trauma informed therapist which means that I have specific training in working with people who have experienced trauma. I am always seeking and growing and finding ways to share what I am learning with my clients.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have come to this work through my own experiences of traumatic loss. Through my own healing journey I developed a passion for working with people as they journey through grief. I believe that grief is a normal part of our human experience. I value normalizing the difficult terrain that every bereaved person walks to find their own way back to more peace in their lives. I incorporate writing exercises, nature-based support and meditation into my therapeutic approach. Grief is part of our love. Connecting with the love we still feel for those we have lost is enormously healing. I would be honored to support you in your healing process.
