My Approach

I aim to help parents and their children become an effective team so they can succeed in home, school, and social environments. I work with families who would like to: • Develop cooperative interactions with their children • Decrease anxiety • Decrease their children’s challenging behaviors • Prevent disruptive patterns of behavior from developing • Find and maintain boundaries around screen time and electronics. I view therapy as an active and collaborative process. I take an eclectic approach, utilizing principles from motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral activation, and social learning theory.

My Background

I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon and am a licensed clinical psychologist. My work emphasizes evidenced-based methods that have been extensively researched, particularly those stemming from the Cognitive-Behavioral and Social Learning Theory perspectives. My clinical experience includes assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with significant emotional and behavioral challenges due to depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, PTSD, or other environmental factors. My assessment experience includes comprehensive evaluations to identify why children may be having a hard time at home, school, and/or in their social environments.
