My Ideal Client

I work with children, adolescents, and families who would like to: -Decrease child/adolescent anxiety and depression -Improve focus, concentration, and study habits -Decrease household anxiety -Increase cooperative interactions -Decrease challenging behaviors -Prevent disruptive patterns of behavior from developing -Find and maintain boundaries around screen time and electronics -Know what they are doing well and learn how to problem solve as new challenges arise

My Background and Approach

My aim is to develop a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork. Through this relationship, my hope is to foster a sense of empowerment for you or your family. I view therapy as an active and collaborative process. I take an eclectic approach, utilizing principles from motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral activation, and social learning theory. I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon and am a licensed clinical psychologist. My work emphasizes evidenced-based methods that have been extensively researched, particularly those stemming from the Cognitive-Behavioral and Social Learning Theory perspectives. My clinical experience includes assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with significant emotional and behavioral challenges due to depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, PTSD, or other environmental factors. My assessment experience includes comprehensive evaluations to identify why

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I start with the assumption that we are all doing the best that we can with the resources that we have in each moment. Broadly, I believe that we can both accept where we are at while also working towards developing new skills and resources to help us bridge the gap between where we are and where we want to be. Outside of work I can often be found walking with my family, singing silly songs to my baby, or relaxing with either a book for television show.

Issues I Treat

  • Coronavirus/COVID-19 External link

Distance learning and social distance policies present new challenges for parents and children. I offer behavior therapy that can assist parents who are struggling to manage new schedules and challenging behaviors as a result of COVID019. Additionally, I have openings for telehealth to help children and adolescents who may be experiencing increased anxiety and/or depression.
