My Ideal Client

I excel in screening for and managing the following challenges: anxiety and mood difficulties, OCD, grief, burn out. I also have interest in working with individuals who suffer due to perimenopause, burnout-out, or chronic medical illness. For those who struggle with more frequent crises or who may be in need of weekly support, it will be best to have a therapist in place. My practice is small at this time and I am unable to serve as a primary therapist or meet weekly.

My Approach to Helping

I have a holistic and thorough approach to assessments. Although I do not believe diagnoses define a person, I do believe it important to clarify the etiology of symptoms as a means of exploring evidence-based approaches to care. As important human experiences (e.g. grief, existential woes) may manifest similarly to pathology, I take care not to medicate experiences which are better managed with therapy, education, mindfulness and behavioral changes. As I have extensive medical training, I am able to screen for any medical contributions to mental health challenges. I find it important to collaborate with one's primary care doctor or naturopath. I recognize that my knowledge and expertise are most impactful when there is a meaningful therapeutic relationship. I value the insight you and your loved ones bring to treatment. Should we work together, I commit to remaining transparent, collaborative and compassionate.
