My Approach
Individual and family psychotherapy is most effective when the goals and strategies for change are identified by the individual or family and address the needs of each member. I approach psychotherapy with a humanistic attitude and strength based perspective, through a trauma informed lens with cultural sensitivity, and social justice focus, drawn on principles of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), CPS (Collaborative Problem Solving), Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems theories, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and MI (Motivational Interviewing). I believe that by gaining a sense of empowerment, people can achieve goals through a collaborative therapy process and create improvement in their lives. My role is to support you as you develop new skills, repair and build relationships, all while developing lifelong skills in managing difficult and stressful life events or challenges. Contact me about my current insurance contracts.
