Nick DeMayo, LMFT

Licensed Marriage Family Therapist

Do you remember what it was like to be a teenager? Everything felt new and exciting, and at times, scary and overwhelming. You may have noticed that your child seems more irritable or withdrawn lately. These could be signs that they are struggling with anxiety or depression.

My Approach

Trust, rapport, the relationship. These are the crucial elements for change to take place during counseling. I strive to be a present and open therapist, accepting clients where they are in life, while working to fully understand the challenges they may be struggling with.

Teenagers are truth detectives and they are the first to spot a phony. My approach to counseling is authentic, with a genuine curiosity to gain a better understanding of the challenges your child may be facing.

My Background

My experience has come from working with children and adolescents in hospitals, schools, group homes, and residential facilities over the past 7 years. I have also attended a number of workshops on Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Music Therapy.

I specialize in treating anxiety and depression, both of which are very common and very treatable, but first we need to identify the underlying stressors your child may be struggling with.
