My Ideal Client

Do you remember how it felt being a teenager? Everything seemed new and exciting, and at times, scary and overwhelming. You may have noticed that your child seems more irritable or withdrawn lately, these could be symptoms of anxiety and depression.

My Approach to Helping

Trust, rapport, and the relationship. These are the elements for change to take place during counseling. I strive to be a present and open therapist, accepting clients where they are in life, while working to fully understand the challenges they may be struggling with. Teenagers are truth detectives and they are the first to spot a phony. My approach to counseling is authentic, with a genuine curiosity to gain a better understanding of the challenges your child may be facing. My goal is to join them on their journey through adolescence, helping them to navigate through any roadblocks they may encounter.

More About the People I Treat

My experience comes from working with children and adolescents in hospitals, schools, residential facilities and private practice over the past 12 years. I have also attended a number of workshops on CBT, ADHD, Mindfulness, and Music Therapy. I specialize in treating anxiety and depression, both of which are very common and very treatable, but first we need to identify the underlying stressors your child may be struggling with. I offer a free 30 minute in-person consultation to assess your child's needs and determine if we would be a good fit for counseling.
