My Ideal Client

If you experience anxiety, grief, transitions or trauma and you value working with a therapist who co-explores origins of current difficulties and help you move towards durable outcomes without pathologizing your experience, you are welcome to reach out. I use a whole person and culturally responsive approach to help adults who work, study and / or live in highly demanding or stressful environments access more aliveness, presence and connection to what/who they care about.

My Approach to Helping

Using a well rounded approach to wellbeing, I co-craft with each client every counseling session as a "1 hour retreat" from daily stressful cycles and an opportunity to experience meaningful presence and real aliveness. I hope that when strengths and inner resources are more intentionally accessed; and when patterns of relating to self and others as well as identity related aspects are compassionately and honestly confronted, sustainable therapeutic outcomes can be facilitated. I see humans as parts of larger structures and systems that constantly impact their health. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC) with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and registered in the EMDR International Association as an emdria certified therapist who also offers consultation hours to EMDR trained clinicians working towards their certification and to clinicians completing their EMDR basic training requirements.

More About the People I Treat

I enjoy working with people who hope to optimize their health and increase the capacity to be present for what they care about. Prior to becoming a therapist, my work as a "master certified" health coach focused on educating and coaching professionals and caregivers on sustainable nutrition, movement, lifestyle and mindset habits for optimal health. As a certified teacher of mindfulness based somatic practice since 2010, my work with clients navigating chronic imbalances has been focused on actualizing their hopes to expand their potential and feel free from unhelpful patterns related to undetected past memories and environmental stressors. While each therapeutic journey is meant to patiently meet clients' minds, bodies and hearts where they are at, the majority of the clients I work with can refine the regulation skills and wellness practices learnt during sessions and conclude their therapeutic experience feeling confident in their capacity to sustain their therapeutic gains.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a psychotherapy method that uses a technique called bilateral stimulation to repeatedly activate opposite sides of the brain to facilitate healing. The form of bilateral stimulation used in EMDR therapy is determined based on each person's capacities and can take place using tactile or auditory stimulation instead of eye movement. EMDR has been useful for a variety of conditions including PTSD, anxiety and relational difficulties.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Panic External link

Does it feel as if anxiety and panic can ambush your body anytime no matter how hard you try to stop them? Nervousness, restlessness, panic or dread, rapid breathing or hyperventilation, increased or heavy sweating, trembling or muscle twitching, difficulty focusing or thinking can be symptoms of anxiety. You are invited to request an initial consult, learn about individual and group therapy and hear your symptoms as invitations for new healing experiences and true aliveness.
