My Ideal Client

I typically work well with people experiencing identity concerns, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, shame, neurodivergence, and oppression. I primarily utilize humanistic, relational, liberation-oriented, and somatic modalities. Clients who feel we're a good fit tend to be open to exploring the context contributing to their concerns. As a queer Iranian, I am particularly excited about working with LGBTQIA+ and Southwest Asian/North African communities.

My Approach to Helping

As a therapist, I aim to support you as you grow into your authentic self and navigate challenges. Sessions with me typically include reflection and exploration of your identities, relationships, values, experiences, cultural context, and the influences of power and oppression. I view therapy as a collaborative process that can help you live the life you want to live. While I have professional knowledge and expertise, I value you as the expert of your own experiences. I show up to session as a human in the room with you rather than a blank slate, and I incorporate your feedback throughout our work together. I prioritize building an empathic, genuine therapeutic relationship to create a space in which you feel fully able to engage in the rewarding and sometimes challenging work in therapy.

My Values as a Therapist

As a liberation-oriented provider, I conceptualize your psychological needs and challenges in context of experiences with cisheteropatriarchy and white supremacy culture. In my role, I aim to work towards dismantling harmful systems and societal norms that perpetuate mental health distress.
