My Approach to Helping

As an internship student with the Family Institute at Northwestern University, the majority of my training is focused on the psychodynamic approach. My own personal interests lie in Viktor E. Frankl’s Logotherapy, an approach that focuses on the development of personal meaning as a means of discovering an optimal way of being in the world. I am also interested in the Adlerian and cognitive theories, two cooperative approaches to therapy that involve a strong alliance between counselor and client. I also have a fascination with the complexities of couple dynamics and the process of building an developing strong and healthy connections in relationships.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have completed specialized coursework around substance abuse counseling, theoretical approaches, ethical considerations, marriage, couples, and family counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic counseling, and culturally diverse counseling practices. I am supervised by faculty counselors through my training program at Northwestern University and by Sam Skye, LPC of Full Spectrum Therapy LLC.
