My Approach to Helping

My approach is collaborative and focused on positive change. I work to provide an affirming space that feels safe and dependable. I am able to provide therapy that is brief in duration and focused on the development of specific skills like communication, as well as to provide ongoing psychotherapy that addresses past traumas and/or the desire to live a more fulfilling and connected life. My orientation and training is an integrated approach of humanistic, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and systems therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in 2013 and have been a licensed psychologist in the state of Oregon since 2014. My graduate training focused on therapy with children and their families as well as Latino/Bilingual therapy. During my internship year I focused specifically on working with families as a whole. After school, I practiced outpatient therapy full-time working with children to adults and with a particular focus on trauma healing. More recently, I was a research interventionist at University of Oregon where I expanded upon my expertise in the areas of child development and positive parenting. I am always seeking to keep up-to-date with relevant research in my field as well as in seeking specialized training in trauma recovery, anxiety and depression, and child and family well-being.
