My Ideal Client

I believe that you are capable, resourceful, whole just as you are, and worthy of respect, dignity, and care. I strive to be an attuned, empathetic collaborator and to create a safe environment for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, get unstuck from patterns that no longer serve you, and create a life that feels fulfilling, easeful, and sustainable, whatever that means to you.

My Approach to Helping

As a licensed school counselor, I'm trained to think about the ways young people interact with the systems they are part of and how those systems impact them. I'm also experienced at blending practical tools and skill-building with insight and empathy, which can help young people feel better faster. I integrate many counseling theories and techniques into my practice based on client needs, goals, and preferences. Some of the approaches I may incorporate include: feminist therapy; acceptance and commitment therapy; Dialectical Behavior Therapy, play therapy (with children only); collaborative problem solving; somatics, polyvagal theory, and mindfulness practices. As an AASECT-certified sexuality educator with over 15 years experience working with adolescents, I am especially skilled at working with queer and trans youth, and providing support for all young people in navigating puberty, dating, relationships, and sexual identity.
