Hello. My name is Ruth. My clients have often described working with me as feeling like they are having a really interesting conversation, but when they walk away from their time together with me, they see their world differently, and then notice that things begin to change in amazing and new ways.

Awareness of our relationship and the relationships that matter to you are essential to changing and adjusting to your world in the way that makes you most fulfilled. Interpersonal therapy helps us focus on the most pressing and present relationships that matter to you.
I work as a Gestalt Relational therapist. This means that I believe that all of your different experiences and parts of who you are always changing and transforming. With the right kind of support, you will find your way to deepening the connections you want to grow more of in your life and distancing the ones that feel unhealthy.
Chronic Illness can be extremely draining to someone's sense of self and support system. I work with you to reinforce the ways you are already coping with your symptoms, continue to support you as you go through the diagnostic and treatment process, and advise on self-advocacy for your support network in ways that get your needs met.
Relationship difficulties are the number one reason clients end up in my office. It can be a relationship with yourself, your significant others, with employer, or with estranged friendships. Whatever the relationship, I believe that growing awareness of what you're doing well now will empower you to set boundaries and increase your sense of curious and trusting connections.
I have worked with grief and loss quite a bit over the years. While I can't change the pain of what/who you lost, I can give you a space to feel the feelings you currently experience as disabling, and through understanding and advice empower you, as you are able, to create meaning and new life out of your loss.
If you have adjustment disorder, you might be experiencing a combination of distressing emotions and behaviors that arose following a recent traumatic or life-changing experience, which have led to difficulties in work, school, and/or relationships. I help by increasing awareness of how you are already coping with what happened and increasing your skill set in coping better with the aftermath.
Anxiety can be extremely disabling, especially long-term. It can isolate you from those you love and keep you from accessing the opportunities and safety you deserve. First, we'll assess your anxiety to understand what it means to you and how it can impact you on a daily basis. Over time we will learn ways to turn your anxiety into feelings of groundedness and excitement.
