My Background

I have over 14 years of experience as a therapist working with children, families, adolescents and adults in multiple settings including inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient settings. From my experience I have came to understand that amazing change can occur when we are feeling the most stuck and hopeless. I also have special interest in working with people who identify as part of the LGBTQ community.

My Approach to Helping

As a therapist I believe that my clients are the experts of their life. I enjoy collaborating with clients to identify and reach their goals such that they can feel successful in everyday life. I utilize a wide variety of therapeutic interventions including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral therapy that are best tailored to my client’s individual needs. I believe strongly in the therapeutic relationship and that having an empathetic and validating person to discuss your concerns with can be healing within itself. However, while my style is empathetic, I also tend to be directive and will challenge my clients to explore different behaviors and thought processes that can lead to them reaching the goals that we have established.
