My Ideal Client

The people I love to work with are people who often feel left out, struggle identifying who they are, want to learn how to more effectively communicate and those who understand that therapy is messy. We will both say the wrong thing sometimes and that's okay. The issues I love supporting people with are struggles with emotion regulation, relationship skills, processing attachment struggles, un-enmeshing from family, and more.

My Approach to Helping

It's important to me to partner with others based on who they are and to make space for their unique needs. I am happy to adjust my approach as needed to co-create a therapeutic relationship. I am passionate about care that serves the whole individual and am especially interested in skills-based work. I utilize the following models most often in the mental health services that I provide: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. I have a strong passion for serving queer individuals.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a behaviorist. I believe that we may not always be able to change our automatic thoughts or our perception of the world but we can change how we behave. In learning to navigate conflict, adversity, and pain in ways that do not make situations worse we often reduce our shame, improve our relationships, and ultimately reduce our negative thinking patterns that we thought would never change. I believe that stigma is hurting our communities more than we realize. There is no diagnosis I am afraid to offer a client if it is appropriate nor a diagnosis I will refuse to work with. Everyone is welcome here as long as I am trained in how to best support you. I also believe that community care is essential. I will always work to connect you to informal supports and peer supports in your community as we learn best from and maintain our skills for health with others and not in isolation.
