My Approach

My approach is relationship-based and client-centered. My clinical focus is to support clients along their journey of healing and growth. I work with individuals and couples who are experiencing relationship stress, life transitions, anxiety, challenges related to pregnancy/postpartum/parenting, body image issues, career support, and grief and loss. I focus on the perspectives of developmental psychology and attachment theory, which view people as growing and changing through their lifespan while carrying with them the influences of their early life experiences. My methods of treatment include cultivation of mindfulness, somatic approaches, solution-focused therapy, and emotionally-focused therapy. I take care to meet each client with optimism, patience, understanding, and compassion.

My Background

I earned my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, California. The program focused on Somatic practices in addition to traditional approaches to counseling and included specialized training in the Hakomi method. My B.A. is from the University of California, Santa Barbara where I majored in Global Studies, focusing on understanding other cultures and communities around the world. My coursework, training, and experience have focused on working with diverse populations in a variety of settings around clinically relevant issues such as birth trauma, pregnancy loss, peripartum stress, postpartum depression, parenting stress, children's behavioral challenges, childhood trauma, and family conflict, to name a few.
