My Ideal Client

Many of my clients are adolescents or adults ready to let go of perfectionism, disordered eating, and/or body shame. Often these issues come with rigid rules and a loud internal critic. Together, we’ll work to quiet the noise, build emotional resilience, and foster a compassionate connection with yourself.

My Approach to Helping

My approach is weight-inclusive, trauma-informed, and anti-diet. I use Compassion Focused Therapy, an evidence based approach that expands on CBT for the specific and nuanced needs of healing from an eating disorder. I help my clients understand the ‘why’ behind surface level symptoms and feel seen as a whole person.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

When it comes to the treatment of eating disorders, I'm an expert both by training and by lived experience. I know that this work takes vulnerability. I'll meet you there with a compassionate and sturdy presence. I am passionate about the social justice of deconstructing fat phobia and helping clinicians and clients examine their own biases. I also believe in the healing power of compassion focused interventions to help us release shame.

I offer a unique perspective as someone with both the lived experience of an eating disorder and receiving doctoral training in the treatment of eating disorders. My primary clinical training took place in college counseling settings, including Connecticut College, Mount Holyoke College, Trinity College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst where I completed my predoctoral internship with a concentration in the treatment of eating disorders in the college setting.
