My Ideal Client

I help clients who are tired of trying to “fix” themselves—people who overthink, care deeply, and sometimes forget their own needs. Whether you’re stuck in anxious thoughts, relationship loops, or food battles, we’ll untangle it together. With training in EMDR and DBT, I bring both structure and compassion (plus a healthy dose of real talk) to help you feel more grounded, connected, and kind toward yourself as you climb your own version of “the mountain.”

My Background and Approach

I received my MSW from the University of South Carolina in 2016 and spent the next several years working in hospitals, eating disorder IOPs, and in-home counseling in Virginia. After experiencing burnout, I took time away from the field to reconnect with myself and return with fresh eyes and renewed energy. That time gave me perspective—both personally and professionally—as I quite literally summited a few mountains and learned to slow down along the way. Now based in Portland where I see clients both in person and virtually, I integrate EMDR, DBT, CBT and mindfulness into my work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and relationship challenges. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in real-life experience—I believe healing isn’t about perfection, it’s about finding your footing on the climb toward self-trust and balance.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in slowing down, taking deep breaths, and finding meaning in the small, ordinary moments. The outdoors has taught me that growth isn’t linear—there are steep climbs, long pauses, and breathtaking views that make it all worth it. After stepping away from social work due to burnout, I reconnected with myself through nature, creativity, and rebuilding a gentler relationship with food and rest. Those experiences reshaped how I see the world: healing happens when we stop trying to perform and start learning to be present. I love exploring new trails, crafting with friends, and savoring good meals in this beautiful "foodie" city—simple reminders that joy and connection are part of wellness. My core belief is that we’re all learning to listen to ourselves a little more kindly, to trust the process, and to honor the many peaks and valleys that make us whole.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

I completed EMDR training in 2024 and recently finished my consultation hours in September 2025. I use EMDR to help clients process memories and experiences that still feel “stuck.” EMDR allows the mind and body to release old patterns and create space for calm, clarity, and self-trust. It’s a powerful tool for healing trauma, anxiety, and self-limiting beliefs at a deep, integrated level.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) External link

I completed DBT skills training in 2025 and integrate its tools to help clients regulate emotions, improve relationships, and find balance between acceptance and change. DBT offers structure and self-compassion—supporting clients in building resilience, mindfulness, and confidence through life’s peaks and valleys.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Eating Disorder External link

I specialize in working with clients navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image struggles. I incorporate DBT, CBT and ACT when working with eating disorders and am currently pursuing CEDS certification. My approach is rooted in compassion and curiosity—helping clients rebuild a peaceful relationship with food, body, and self. I support clients in finding balance, self-trust, and freedom from rigid patterns so they can reconnect with what truly nourishes them.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

I love helping couples and individuals untangle relationship patterns and strengthen connection. Using Gottman Method tools, we explore communication, conflict, and emotional needs. Whether the goal is rebuilding the relationship or parting ways with clarity and respect, I create space for honest conversations and small, meaningful shifts toward understanding and peace.

  • Anxiety External link

I help clients understand and calm the constant “what if” thoughts that come with anxiety. Together, we explore the patterns that keep you stuck in worry and learn tools to regulate your body and mind. My approach blends mindfulness, self-compassion, and practical strategies to help you feel more present, capable, and steady—so anxiety no longer runs the show.

  • Divorce External link

I help clients navigate the messy middle of divorce—the space between who you were and who you’re becoming. Together, we untangle old patterns, explore identity, and reconnect with what actually feels like you. This season can be painful but also deeply clarifying, and I love helping people find confidence, peace, and purpose in their next chapter.

  • PTSD External link

I work with clients healing from trauma and PTSD, creating a space that feels safe enough to finally exhale. Using EMDR and other grounding tools, we process painful memories at a pace that feels manageable. My goal is to help you move from surviving to living fully—feeling calm, connected, and in control of your story again.
