My Approach to Helping

I use mindful and experiential approaches in therapy. This means that I value your experience in the present moment as a tremendous resource for learning, flexibility and change. By noticing what is happening in the here-and-now, you can choose and create the kinds of behaviors and relationships that fulfill your deepest needs and desires. Specifically, I work with the Hakomi method. I also use an archetypal approach that is grounded in nature wisdom. This means that I value the deep connection between your humanity, the collective humanity and the Earth. By noticing patterns and archetypal myths running through your life, you can take greater and more authentic authorship over your life and discover feelings of deep connectedness to the larger world. Above all else, I value the therapeutic relationship as the basis for our work together. Together, we can form a relationship that is the foundation for you to heal, grow and evolve in the way that feels most right and true for you.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Depth Therapy External link

Your life is a myth of epic proportions, and you are simultaneously the author and heroine. Archetypal and universal patterns flow through your life, synchronicities abound and nature is always proving a map for you to follow. Drawing on myth, mindfulness, nature wisdom and archetypal patterns, I am here to be a guide as you dive into your own depths. Let you life be an adventure!

  • Hakomi External link

Hakomi utilizes mindfulness and the mind-body connection to help you cultivate an intimate, holistic and lived relationship with your Self. Unlearn limiting conditioning, re-wire your neural networks and access your innate authenticity and wholeness with this mindfulness based approach to self discovery.

  • Relational  External link

Above all else, I value the therapeutic relationship as the basis for our work together. In order to create a safe container for transformation, I rely on the principles of non-violence, mindfulness, organicity, unity and mind-body holism. Together, we can form a relationship that is the foundation for you to heal, grow and evolve in the way that feels most right and true for you.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Women's Issues External link

When women are empowered, humanity will finally be able to live peaceably upon the Earth. The patriarchy has subjugated, repressed and shamed the feminine, women and the Earth for thousands of years. It is the unique responsibility of women to empower themselves in the face of this oppression, changing the paradigm from within. I love to work with: Body image, self love, mothering, sex and female pleasure, facing shame, initiations into feminine power.

  • Child or Adolescent Issues External link

I offer highly attuned, empowerment-based, relevant and uniquely tailored long-term therapy to teenage girls and women. My work emphasizes the cultivation of mindfulness and meaning-making capacities, so that teens learn to navigate the complexities and challenges of life in a way that is true to their authenticity and supports healthy decision-making.

  • Self-Esteem External link

We live in a cultural paradigm that conditions us with all sorts of fear-based, limiting and destructive beliefs. Many of us internalize these fears and beliefs, and are convinced that it is about us- that somehow we are wrong or bad. Let's unlearn this false conditioning and access the truth of our wholeness and organicity.

  • Anxiety External link

Many of us come to counseling with some sort of an issue like anxiety, depression, or low self esteem. I believe that these 'issues' are actually pathways inward to wholeness and freedom. Anxiety is life force energy that is stuck, obstructed or unchanneled. The more we clear fear, resistance and doubt from our systems, the more usefully our life force energy will flow.

  • Depression External link

Many of us come to counseling with some sort of an issue like anxiety, depression, or low self esteem. I believe that these 'issues' are actually pathways inward to wholeness and freedom. Depression is the result of suppressed life force energy. When we begin to heal our wounds, work through our fears and access our purpose, the haze of depression lifts.
