My Ideal Client

I am, first and foremost, interested in working with people as people, not as their diagnoses. As a fellow human and collaborative therapist I'm interested in meeting my clients where they're at with whatever they are facing. As an ADHD-er myself I particularly enjoy supporting other neurodiverse folks traversing this neurotypical world. I am also passionate about supporting other therapists through the challenges they face as caregivers and humans.

My Approach to Helping

I'm here to support you in finding your way, whether that means finding your own authentic path forward or your own authentic way of being, individually or in relationship with others. I believe strongly that therapy is a collaborative effort in which my expertise and the client's are equally important and valuable - my expertise in the therapeutic process and the client's expertise in their lived experience and relationships. I believe we're each born with our own unique strengths and sensitivities which are magnified or obscured by the relationships and experiences we encounter throughout our lives. By learning to appreciate and harness those strengths and sensitivities we can become our best selves and live a life in alignment with our values. Because each client’s goals and path are unique, I employ an eclectic, client-centered approach to therapy founded in Feminist and Narrative therapies, Family Systems Theory, and Attachment Theory.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Despite my previous statement, diagnoses can sometimes be helpful for understanding ourselves and finding our people. I personally own my diagnoses of anxiety and ADHD, and am excited to support clients who share those or similar experiences. I also consider myself a friend and ally to the LGBTQ, kink, poly and ethically non-monogamous communities, and have had extensive contact with those communities in my personal and professional life. As a graduate student I focused on issues related to gender roles and expectations, rape culture, and prevention of individual and societal problems through promotion of wellness throughout childhood, as well as our relationships with our bodies, sexuality, aging, and death.
