My practice is one of thirds. About one-third of my clients are couples who are struggling to communicate and solve their problems respectfully. Another third is individuals struggling with some surface level difficulties of anxiety and/or depression. Under the surface is often a history of trauma and invalidation. Finally, a third of my practice is men working on being healthier and more respectful.
I use a behavioral approach to couples counseling. There is solid evidence that learning, and practicing communication skills builds healthier, more respectful, and more emotionally intimate relationships. I have been using this approach with couples, and with men focusing on their relationship skills, for nearly 20 years.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help individuals better understand where their anger comes from, rethink the beliefs that lead to that anger, and build solid skills for responding to difficulties in life differently.
The science behind psychotherapy is clear: cognitive behavioral therapy is the treatment of choice for many conditions, including depression and anxiety. My training is in this treatment model and I have implemented it in my practice for over 20 years.
I have worked with men for over a decade to build the skills they need to live healthy lives and have happy, intimate relationships.
I help couples build the communication skills they need to respectfully resolve their conflicts while building emotional intimacy.
With over a decade of experience treating men who use aggression to solve their problems, I can readily help you discover healthier alternatives and build your emotional intelligence.
I am highly skilled in using cognitive-behavioral therapy to help you overcome your anxiety and build your ability to continue to manage those symptoms throughout your life.
