My Ideal Client

I work with adults and couples who are stuck in patterns that cause anxiety and depression. They may also find relationship struggles, either with coworkers or with family. Anxiety causes them to withdraw and limit activities. Their feelings of hopelessness causes them to disengage from life and limit activities they love. We will explore challenges that are preventing you from having joy and we'll identify the core issues that prevent you from expressing yourself and from finding peace.

My Background and Approach

I have worked in County Mental Health as a Crisis Worker and CPS/APS worker also worked in In-Patient Psychiatric and Out-Patient Psychiatric facilities as a Social Worker. I also have experience working in Acute Care Hospitals as a Patient Counselor/Social Worker. My approach helps clients to uncover hidden blocks to self-fulfillment, release trauma and negative patterns that promote fear, anxiety, sadness, and distress. I provide tools that focus on helping to overcome stressful emotions and mental health symptoms. I utilize EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and EFT Tapping techniques as well as Psychodynamic Depth work and attachment theory, CBT and Mindfulness approaches. I provide clients with Empathic understanding, interactive sessions, coping strategies, assistance tools, support for individuality, acceptance of varied cultures, positions, discovery of your true Self and ability to control your mental health symptoms.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am social in the community and love going to music events. I also like being in nature, taking long walks, and helping with rescue animals. I believe in service and community building and love to attend events that feature music like concerts, especially jazz and love to sing. I go to Trivia games and plays, art shows and community support activities.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Depression External link

One of the ways I like to address depressive symptoms is with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help change the focus and correct negative thinking. One small step each day toward a goal or activity, can help you to reconnect and find meaning. There is a way to help to restore feeling good by delving into your untapped emotions. We will incorporate various tools of dream analysis, exploring unconscious influences, guided visualization, and breathwork to revive your positive, healthy energy.
