My Approach to Helping

I seek to cultivate a space that can be described as warm, thoughtful, and non-judgmental. My therapeutic approach is grounded in trauma-informed principles and strengths-based. I use a variety of therapeutic interventions, including narrative therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and person-centered therapy. I aim to create a supportive environment to work through experiences of anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem and confidence, relationship conflicts, and stress management. I currently work with teens and young adults.

My Values as a Therapist

I am a Mexican-American woman and strive to use a systems-based approach lens in my work. I received my Master of Social Work degree in June 2021 from Portland State University. I am passionate about creating safe and supportive spaces for young people to work through life's difficulties and learn about themselves. I believe therapy begins when clients feel seen, understood, and accepted as they are. I value a collaborative and strengths-based approach to supporting clients in meeting their goals and improving overall emotional well-being, self-expression, and relationships. I have received further training in DBT and Collaborative Problem-Solving.
