What I Specialize In

I have extensive experience working with adults who have experienced childhood trauma and are struggling to understand and manage reactions and impacts on their current self. In psychodynamic institutes, as well as in outpatient settings in hospitals and universities, I have often worked with individuals who are experiencing existential dread and depression for a variety of complex reasons. I have expertise, and find joy, in navigating the confusing emotions and philosophical content inherent to life. Also, I have experience working with clients experiencing GAD, panic attacks, and phobias. I bring a host of practical CBT/DBT skills, mindfulness, and modern trauma therapies as well as specific training in exposure therapies and CBT/DBT strategies to combat heightened states of emotion. I also have extensive experience working with individuals who experience chronic suicidality. Additionally, I have valued experience working with Trans folks, BIPOC, LGBTQ folks, and polyamorous folks.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

My theory is that a combination of a deeper understanding of self coupled with practical skills, can lead to desired personality change, sustained self-discovery, and relief. I utilize a modern relational and collaborative approach along with a variety of CBT/Mindfulness skills. I attended Fordham University for my MSW and then went on to pursue post-graduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in New York City. My previous experiences include providing crisis counseling to undergraduate and graduate students at New York University and long- term therapy to students at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. In addition to working in academic counseling centers in New York City, I also have experience providing psychotherapy and crisis counseling to a diverse adult client population at Bellevue Hospital Center. Currently, when I am not in private practice, I work evenings at the Emergency Department at Legacy Health in Portland, OR
