My Ideal Client

Pretending is tiring, but vulnerability can feel terrifying. I often work with perfectionists, compulsive strivers, and people who appear high-functioning on the outside while feeling numb, overwhelmed, or lost inside. Many of my clients are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity questions, or social justice fatigue. They’re thoughtful, self-aware people who have spent years holding everything together and are ready for a space where they don’t have to do that alone.

My Background

I come to this work with deep respect for the many ways people learn to survive and the quiet courage it takes to begin exploring what healing might look like. As a transracial and international adoptee raised by white parents, I grew up navigating both the privileges of proximity to whiteness and the confusion of not fully belonging. These experiences shaped my understanding of identity, internalized oppression, and the ways people are often told, directly and subtly, to shrink in order to be accepted. Like many of the clients I work with, I spent years trying to meet unrealistic expectations while quietly struggling with perfectionism, shame, and the pressure to appear a certain way on the outside. My own journey navigating identity, belonging, and worthiness has taught me that many of the beliefs we carry about ourselves are shaped by relational and systemic experiences, and this awareness informs the way I hold space for others.

My Approach to Helping

My approach is grounded in an awareness of silent struggle and the complex ways survival can shape how we move through the world. I believe therapy is not about fixing who you are, but about creating space to understand the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that have shaped you. Our work together is collaborative, insight-oriented, and responsive to your needs, with room to explore the parts of your story that may feel confusing, contradictory, or difficult to name. Many of the struggles people bring to therapy are rooted not only in internal experiences but also in relational and systemic contexts, and healing often begins with validating lived realities and releasing burdens that were never yours to carry. My hope is to offer a space where you don’t have to perform or shrink parts of yourself, but can show up as you are and be met with care and curiosity.
