Amelia Morgan-Rothschild, MA, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am passionate about living this life as fully as possible and helping others do the same. Since most of the wounds we carry within us arose through relationships with others, I feel strongly that these wounds heal through relationship as well. Let's create the healing relationship for you.

My Approach

My goal is for you to get everything you want out of your counseling experience. Trained at Naropa University in Contemplative Psychotherapy, I bring Buddhist Psychology into the work I do. Building on your own inherent wisdom and wholeness, together we will help heal old wounds and develop strengths you may not even know are possible. If needed, I also incorporate somatic and mind-body approaches such as Hakomi, that can support further healing and integration of past and current traumas. No matter which approach is used, I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the catalyst in your healing. ****The little white dog in my profile picture is named Leo and he comes to sessions as well! He is a rescue dog who loves going to work and greeting clients. He is 7 years old, hypoallergenic, and loves treats and naps.

My Background

Let me tell you a little about myself. My first love was performing in musicals and I earned my BFA in Theater from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. (I promise, I will never break out into song in the middle of a therapy session!) While performing in theater brought me joy, eventually I become more inspired and fulfilled by spirituality, meditation, Buddhism, inner work, and healing. These interests led me through a variety of psychological and transformational studies until I eventually earned my Masters in Contemplative Psychotherapy at Naropa University, one of the only Buddhist-inspired accredited school in the country. Here is where I learned the unique art of helping others. It is important that you know I have experienced my own struggles, challenges, heartaches, lows, and extremes. Moreover, I can tell you from my personal experience as a client, that therapy does help. I have a deep passion for helping others lead more fulfilling lives. I look forward to meeting you.
