Licensed Professional Counselor

It IS possible to feel hopeful about your future again - to find a place of acceptance within yourself and the world around you. I know it's possible because I've witnessed it with my clients and I've experienced it myself. The suffering can end. I can help.

My Approach
You may appear "fine" to those around you, but inside you're all alone, swimming in a sea of intense emotions. You've tried reaching out to friends and family but they don't know what to say or how to help and you just end up feeling like a burden. You desperately want to "just let it go," but you're barely able to keep your head above water. If you don't get help soon, you feel you might go under. I've been a DBT therapist for over a decade and I specialize in treating clients with intense emotional dysregulation. I’ve witnessed clients who are chronically suicidal, multidiagnostic or otherwise labeled, “difficult to treat,” learn to gain control over their thoughts, behaviors and intense emotional reactions and go on to rebuild their relationships and reconnect with the world. It's time for your suffering to end. I can help.
My Background
For over seventeen years I have had the opportunity to treat a diverse group of individuals - from those who are seeking brief psychotherapy, to those who are seriously and persistently mentally ill - in a wide variety of settings including crisis clinics, emergency rooms, community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals and correctional environments (minimum to maximum security prisons). Humor has been an effective coping skill in my own life and I actively (and appropriately) apply humor throughout the therapeutic process. I am open about my own personal history because I believe we are all in this together. I feel honored whenever a client feels safe enough to share a personal struggle with me. I get as much out of it as my clients do. Every day I witness people take a new step toward a life that is worth living, some of them for the first time. I am honored to be a part of it.
