My Approach

I'm not the smile and nod therapist. You want help, you want change, and neither of those things are going to happen by me staring at you and agreeing with everything you say. When you say "it's fine" and let your voice trail off, I'm going to ask "is it really fine?" You'll tell me where it hurts and how scared you are, and I'll take your hand and walk with you. You don't have to do this alone. I won't tell you to go to yoga or to meditate for 30 minutes a day (if you want to, cool, but it's not mandatory for healing). Some things you might want to know: I'm so left-leaning I might as well be laying down, I love my service dog more than any human, I'm straightforward and I'm just going to tell you like it is, I don't understand hiking and camping, and this officially feels like a dating profile. Check out my website to learn more about how I operate and what I can help you with.

My Background

This space used to list my degrees and credentials and was carefully written to remain distant but warm. Interesting, because that's so not how I am with clients or how I am in the world. I’m warm, yes, but am typically the opposite of distant. I want this page to help you decide if we’ll work well together, not just list the things I’ve done (though I will on the other blurb for those interested). What you probably want to know most of all is a) do I know what I’m doing and b) what inspires me to work with clients with eating disorders, sexual trauma and anxiety. The simple answer is that I've been there too and I get how deeply painful and alone these things make you feel. I also believe recovery and healing are possible. I get it on a level that I couldn't without having lived through it. Your climb out will look different than mine, but I want you to know I've been in those pits too and I believe you have it in you to climb out...with some help
