Kimberly Christensen, PhD can

Marriage Family Therapist Intern

I work with individuals, couples, and groups. The thing I like most about my job is helping people create deeper connections to themselves, their families, and communities. Many people come in to therapy in a great deal of suffering. Together, we transform suffering through supportive healing.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is holistic and relationship oriented. In couples counseling, my orientation is emotionally focused therapy. I use movement exercises and the body to support lasting changes in people's lives. In addition, I work with imagination and symbolic methods (dreamwork, expressive arts therapy, psychodrama, Gestalt, and movement therapy). I have a background in working with the inner child, codependency, and healing toxic shame with a humanistic, transpersonal, and family systems perspective to heal trauma.
