My Approach

All of us have experienced trauma to some degree in our lives, times when what is happening completely overwhelms our ability to cope. Traumatic experiences interfere with our most significant relationships, affecting our ability to relate to our authentic selves and to other people, which can leave us feeling isolated, disempowered, anxious, depressed, and disconnected. Through the therapeutic relationship we create together, we will work to help you develop a sense of safety, connect to your intrinsic resilience, increase emotional regulation, modify unhelpful patterns, and clarify your needs and wants in relationship. I believe it is also helpful to address the impact of trauma and stress on the body, working with the nervous system and neurophysiology as a way to increase wellness and balance. I use a variety of modalities including mindfulness practice, attachment theory, trauma-sensitive yoga, and DBT to give you practical tools towards healing.

My Background

I believe we all want to find meaning and connection, that we feel better when our authentic selves feel seen, heard, and understood. I endeavor to provide a safe and healing space where you are encouraged to explore the bigger questions and can be received, validated, and valued. I affirm all gender identities and sexual orientations and have experience supporting non-traditional relationship configurations. My work is informed by a long-standing meditation and yoga practice and a belief that we all have an organic wisdom and an intrinsic capacity to move towards wholeness.
