Patricia Bolden

Marriage Family Therapist Intern

I work with clients to clarify values, identify and build on strengths and increase self-knowledge. These are foundations for change and growth, and I believe they strengthen our ability to deal with life's challenges.

My Approach

The relationship between a client and therapist is crucial to the success of therapy. I recognize you as the expert on your own life. I will collaborate with you to identify your needs and goals. Together we can explore how problems and circumstances impact the quality of your life, and devise realistic solutions and means of improvement. I employ an integrated approach, using different models of therapy to match the personality and needs of clients. I strive to provide a compassionate and supportive environment where wounds of past relationships and experiences can be healed. I aim to empower clients with knowledge and tools that can be used for continued development and growth after therapy has ended.

My Background

I am experienced working with individuals, couples and groups with a broad spectrum of concerns, including enhancing relationships , navigating life changes, and coping with depression, anxiety, and addictive behaviors. In my career counseling practice, I coach individuals in goal setting and execution, while serving as a point of accountability. The scope of our work may include identifying and addressing behaviors that get in the way of success at work. I bring unique competencies to this practice. I left a successful career as a business leader to follow my passion for counseling. My life experiences and knowledge of the business world enrich my practice of individual and relationship counseling. I hold a BA in Business, and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Saybrook University.
