My Approach

I work with adults. My focus is on the present and I have a practical and commonsense style. Prior to becoming a counselor I had a management career in large corporations. Combined with counseling, my business background helps me work with professional people because I have first-hand knowledge of the kinds of issues they face. I tailor our work together using methods I think are most likely to help you attain your goals. I will help you explore your thoughts, emotions and behaviors. We will look at your personality--the strong parts and the parts that restrict you. The greater awareness developed as a result of this kind of work can help you find valuable ways to move forward. Please call me if you want more information about how I work or would like to make an appointment.

My Background

In addition to working with clients, I provide services as a Counselor Supervisor in Oregon. I supervise counseling interns who are working towards obtaining a license as an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) or LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist). Please contact me if you are looking for a supervisor. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from Portland State University (PSU) and was trained in Individual Counseling with a specialty in Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to my private practice, I work with clients and counseling students at PSU's Community Counseling Clinic. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon, a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a professional member of the American Counseling Association.
