My Approach to Helping

The key to a working therapeutic alliance is the fundamental concept of the client being the expert. In my practice it is essential to work alongside the client as you set the course, pace, and destination of counseling. Similar to going on a hike to a beautiful destination it is my role to be respectful of your desires while on the hiking trail. With a narrative and cognitive behavioral therapeutic (CBT) approach we can work together to challenge thought processes, identify personal themes, and author new chapters in your life story.

Why I Became a Therapist

Prior to becoming a therapist, I had spent many years thinking through the careers I would want to place my energy towards. As I saw how important the helping professions were becoming, I found it more important than ever to pursue this direction. With an ever-evolving world that is constantly expanding into a more complex place to navigate I found that having a safe and trusting environment to explore yourself, find healing, and seek skills to cope with life's difficulties is what I wanted to create. It is my aim to help other people because I highly value the human experience and it is often through partnerships, we experience the most success.
