My Ideal Client

My clients are individuals who struggle with anxiety and/or obsessive-compulsive-related disorders, the latter of which include obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), hoarding disorder, hair-pulling disorder, skin-picking disorder, and body dysmorphic disord. The anxiety and distress they experience has gotten in the way of how they want to live their lives. My clients want to take back what anxiety took from them and learn how to manage their anxiety independently.

My Background and Approach

I have dedicated myself to the treatment of anxiety and OCD-spectrum disorders. Passionate about providing early intervention for anxiety, I obtained my Psy.D. at Pacific University, where I focused my training in the Child and Adolescent Track. I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital’s Obsessive-Compulsive and Anxiety Disorders Program to become proficient in treating a variety of anxiety and OCD-spectrum disorders. I have treated anxiety and OCD-spectrum disorders across the lifespan as a licensed clinical psychologist since 2019. My treatment approach is strongly informed by cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). I also incorporate treatment principles and interventions from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and metacognitive therapy (MCT). I provide individual and family-based treatment, the latter of which is often the best practice for treating pediatric anxiety.

Why We are a Good Fit for You

Treating OCD and anxiety requires a collaborative, supportive, and team-based approach. You and I will work together to treat your symptoms by learning how to change the way you think and (perhaps most importantly) change how you behave in response to fear, anxiety, and panic. I will help you learn that you are stronger and more capable than your anxiety may suggest. It is difficult to move towards what scares us, and you will always have the choice of pace in your therapy journey. Each individual always chooses how hard they are willing to push themselves in order to face challenges and create change. My clients usually struggle with at least one of the following: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobias, Agoraphobia, Separation Anxiety Disorder, Hoarding Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, hair-pulling disorder (trichotillomania), and skin-picking disorder (excoriation disorder).
