My Ideal Client

I have experience and enjoy working with a diverse range of people, but I specialize in working with developmental and interpersonal trauma, PTSD, and individuals and families involved in foster care and adoption. For the majority of my career, I have worked with youth and families. I am deeply passionate about partnering with caregivers and believe that they play a vital role in a child’s healing and growth.

My Approach to Helping

I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee and have spent the past eight years working in residential and community mental health settings. I believe that every person has a deep desire to be seen, understood, and accepted for who they are. I also believe that individuals possess an innate capacity for healing, growth, and resilience when provided with the right support and environment. I strive to create a safe, collaborative, and empowering space where clients can explore their experiences, strengthen their sense of self, and move toward meaningful change. As a Certified EMDR Therapist, I recognize the brain’s natural ability to heal. My role is to help clients access and trust their own innate capacity for healing while providing support and guidance throughout the process.

My Values as a Therapist

I believe that our experiences, relationships, identities, and environments all shape our well-being, and that mental health cannot be fully understood without considering the broader social, cultural, and systemic contexts in which we live. As a therapist with multiple privileged identities working within a profession that has contributed to oppression and marginalization, I recognize that these realities can impact how safe, understood, and supported clients feel in therapy. I believe it is my responsibility to continually engage in self-reflection, examine my own biases, and pursue ongoing education about power, privilege, and systemic inequities. I welcome conversations about how our identities, experiences, and differences may show up in the therapeutic relationship, and I am committed to creating a space where feedback is valued and clients' experiences are respected.
