The focus of my practice is on working with the youngest members of your family. As such, I use play as the primary means of communication in session. I also incorporate sandtray, activity therapy and draw from evidence-based practices with an emphasis on attachment and modify techniques to best fit the needs of your child and family. With that said, I practice counseling from a family systems approach. This means I consider everyone in the family an essential part of the healing process. I believe each person’s individual challenges and successes cannot be examined independent of their family culture, values, and environment. Everyone plays a part in how the family fits together. Even though my focus is on working with children, the participation of the important adults in children’s lives increases the effectiveness of any therapy!

I hold a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Portland State University. I have also earned a graduate certificate in Infant & Toddler Mental Health. As a registered marriage and family therapy intern with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists (OBLPCT), I am supervised by Kimberly Jayne, PhD, LPC, NCC, RPT-S.

Techniques I Use

  • Play Therapy  External link

Play is the natural language of children. All of my work with clients will involve play on some degree!

  • Family Therapy External link

As a family therapist, I pull strengths for the individual, or smaller family unit, from the relationships that they surround themselves with- whether that be natural family or chosen family!
