My Ideal Client

I work with adults across the lifespan aged 18 and older who have questions or concerns about their cognition, memory, learning, attention, executive functioning, or social functioning. I love working with folks who have concerns about ADHD, autism, and learning disorders, as well as older adults who are experiencing cognitive decline or changes in their memory. I also provide gender-affirming surgery evaluations and love being able to support trans/gender nonconforming patients in this way.

What I Specialize In

I specialize in neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative, and neurocognitive disorders. I have extensive training in the assessment of ADHD, learning disorders, autism, various dementias, and traumatic brain injury. I also offer diagnostic clarification for psychiatric versus neurologic concerns and can answer questions about memory, attention, thinking, or executive functioning. I have more than a dozen years of experience and training in neuropsychological assessment, with a background specifically in cognition and memory. I enjoy helping my patients learn more about their symptoms and providing psychoeducation as they pursue diagnostic clarification and treatment. Currently, I exclusively offer assessment services and do not offer therapy or coaching services. As a part of your evaluation, I am happy to help you connect with therapists, coaches, medication management services, and other resources or referrals that might be helpful.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am committed to advocating for marginalized communities, and center this in my work, always striving to provide culturally-responsive and informed care. Supporting trans, gender nonconforming, and other underserved populations who face barriers to accessing high quality mental healthcare is of utmost importance to me. Neuropsychological assessment comes with inherent bias due to the ways that tests are normed and developed. I am always in pursuit of continuing education related to best practices in assessment for maintaining evidence-based, culturally-informed, and trauma-responsive evaluations. While neuroaffirming evaluations are popular and can be helpful for validating self-beliefs, I do not offer them as they are generally not as thorough as diagnostic evaluations. Instead, I offer comprehensive diagnostic testing that can be used for academic/workplace accommodations, diagnostic verification for medication management, and documentation for medical or mental health treatment.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • ADHD External link

I specialize in the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD and executive dysfunction. I offer comprehensive evaluations to identify ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions to best support patients seeking treatment for executive dysfunction, academic difficulties, or difficulty with general functioning due to ADHD symptoms.

  • Autism External link

I offer comprehensive evaluations to identify and diagnose autism spectrum disorder. Given the overlap between ASD and other conditions like OCD, ADHD, and OCPD, it is important to gather a wide range of data to determine the etiology of the symptoms. If you have concerns about your social functioning, emotional functioning, or cognitive functioning due to suspected ASD, I can answer those questions during our comprehensive testing.

  • Alzheimers External link

For older adults, memory decline can be concerning. My role is to clarify, through neuropsychological testing, the etiology of the concerns and whether it is something neurodegenerative, progressive, neurodevelopmental, or due to typical healthy aging.

  • Learning Disorder External link

For adults, learning disorders can still be hugely disruptive to functioning, but they are often undiagnosed. Testing can be used to clarify deficits in reading, writing, and math in order to identify specific learning disorders and challenges. There is a lot of overlap between LD and ADHD, so we usually do some differential testing to make sure we get a comprehensive understanding of what is causing the difficulty.

  • Intellectual Disability External link

Intellectual disability due to neurodevelopmental causes or changes in intellectual functioning due to traumatic brain injury can be challenging to navigate. Neuropsychological testing can be used to identify areas of strength and weakness in intellectual functioning, determine the cause, and make a plan for any treatment or supports that need to be put in place.
