I am a therapist today because I was able to do the work to re-discover my true self and passion for helping others with the help of “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron. Cameron’s work, along with others, such as Thich Nhat Hanh and Pema Chödrön, informs my therapeutic work with clients interested in continued growth and personal development.

I work with many aspects of personal growth, including: addressing fears that hold you back, transforming limiting beliefs, gaining control over unwanted feelings, and creating more empowering habits and thought patterns.

In the end, all therapy focuses on personal growth. Very often our complaints stem from some fundamental unwillingness to grow. Childhood wounding leaves us hoping for a parental figure (or lover) to fill a void in our lives. The maturity that comes from looking at and facing our lives and the disappointments in our lives and taking responsibility for moving forward is a life-long process.

Working towards personal growth and wellness is an excellent reason to enter into therapy. Often times we get so busy in our daily lives, that we forget to put aside time to explore these important themes. I support people in identifying and exploring their own strengths, values and spiritual beliefs in order to live full and healthy lives. This process can begin at any time and at any age.

My beloved Hospice patients taught me so much over the years about what is important in the end. Within every one of us is a story of anguish, perseverance, and confidence that arises from heart-wrenching dilemmas. It's important that we face challenges that lead to growth and reflect on the changes that will lead to a more fulfilling life. Viktor Frankl said it best, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

I enjoy working with adults undergoing life transitions, whether it be personal, professional, social or spiritual. We examine value systems and explore whether they match up with action.

Sometimes, we just feel stuck. What if we \'checked all the boxes\' and still don\'t feel happy or fulfilled? What if we didn\'t. There are various life events - birthdays, marriages, birth of a child, layoffs, death of a parent, divorce - that can make us pause and reflect, \'What now?\' Therapy can help us discover our answers.

Regardless of where you are in life, having support as you navigate can be useful. I work with people who are stuck, in a transition, or just want to grow as a person. Through building awareness of how you operate and exist within your story, we can explore how to grow into the life you want to live.

Personal growth is a term that encompasses something unique for every person. A fundamental assumption of depth psychology is that the psyche tends toward expression and vitality throughout the life-span, and coming to therapy for something along the lines of 'personal growth' may be a good sign that a part of your personality is ready to be lived more fully.

It\'s said that \'if you aren\'t growing, you are dying\'. Making changes in our lives and seeking more for ourselves in meaningful ways is necessary yet sadly too rare. It seems society and mainstream culture want us to accept distraction and hollow connection in place of genuine experience. Strive for more and learn ways to define your value, meaning, and the path to more from your life.

For lasting impact, I have found the foundation of personal growth must be the fostering of a deep sense of worthiness exactly as one is. Although a commonly-held belief, self-judgment and self-criticism do not motivate us to do better; they keep us stuck in the very patterns we seek to avoid. Only when we learn to let go of unhelpful narratives about who we are can we realize our full potential.

Many of us have things we would like to see improve in our lives. Each of us have a different starting point and seeing growth in our lives is a very individual process. We may use a wide range of techniques to help you live and age well focusing on achieving a state of fulfillment.
