My Ideal Client

Are you feeling stuck and aren’t quite sure how to move forward? Are your reactions and behaviors no longer serving you? Are your symptoms keeping you from feeling at ease and making it difficult for you to enjoy the simple day to day moments? I strive to create an environment for you to feel supported and understood while encouraging you to go deeper into exploring what truly lies beneath your actions and reactions, creating opportunity for shifts and transformation.

How I Can Help You

I can help you develop a greater awareness of yourself and your actions. Together, we will explore ways to move forward using tools to help you turn off your “auto-pilot” and to deepen your understanding of what is underneath your reactions so you can begin living freely and within your control. We will explore the root of behaviors, thoughts, and emotional responses that pull you into “reactive mode”. We will explore the physiological impact this creates in your body and ways to move into an aware state that lends to calm, presence, and a sense of self-control. We will explore alternative ways to manage overwhelming feelings and cope with experiences including: anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship struggles, separation and divorce, addiction, anger, parenting, and life transitions.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

For the past 25 years, I have been invited to sit with others during some of their most vulnerable moments. The intimacy held in the relationship between myself and my clients has lent itself to a fulfilling career that touches me well beyond my time spent in sessions. Education and training are essential to developing into a skilled therapist; however, for me, it is also what I have leaned in my sessions with clients that has taught me what it means to endure pain, to put our guards down, and to sit with raw emotion. Seeing people work through difficult things and come out feeling more fulfilled and at peace is what encourages me to continue to show up in my own life with curiosity, compassion, and lightheartedness. As I support my clients to find balance and fulfillment, I too strive to live my life in a way that fulfills me. When I am not sitting with clients, I can be found chasing my boys down mountain bike trails, rock climbing, and finding quiet moments in meditation.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) External link

I have been trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), a compassionate, structured approach that helps us understand and care for the parts of us that carry pain or try to protect us. Together we will create space from thoughts and reactions that no longer serve you and explore the beliefs and emotions beneath- so you can respond with more clarity, curiosity, and calm.

  • Hakomi External link

I trained in Hakomi therapy through the Hakomi Institute of Calgary, Canada, completing a 3-year intensive program. This training immersed me not only in learning the model, but also in experiencing it's transformative impact firsthand. Of all the psychotherapy approaches I have studied, Hakomi therapy has been the most powerful- it fundamentally changed how I practice and deepened the way I support meaningful change in others.

  • Mindfulness-based External link

I incorporate mindfulness-based practices to help you slow down, notice your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations with curiosity- even if just for a few moments. This creates space between you and your reactions, allowing you to respond with intention rather than habit. In session, it shifts the focus from simply talking about your experience to actually feeling and noticing it so we can work on a deeper, more integrated level.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

I use a "neurobiological" approach for treating anxiety, recognizing that anxiety is deeply connected to both our thought patterns, our emotions, and our physiological (body) responses. By understanding how the brain and the body interact under stress, I will help you develop tools to regulate your nervous system, reframe anxious thoughts, explore the roots of the anxiety, and build lasting resilience.

  • Women's Issues External link

I work with women navigating a wide range of issues including self-esteem, identity, life transitions, relationships, trauma, parenting, and the ongoing pressure of balancing multiple roles. We will work together to explore your full experience, including your thoughts, emotions, any physiological responses to uncover patterns and to help you feel more grounded, connected, and aligned with yourself.

  • Personal Growth External link

I support personal growth by addressing your full experience- thoughts, emotions, and physiological responses that may be holding you back. Through a blend of insight-oriented work, nervous system regulation, and practical strategies, I will help you to cultivate clarity, break through internal barriers, and support meaningful and sustainable change.

  • Men's Issues External link

I work with men to address a wide range of issues including self-esteem, identity, life transitions, relationships, trauma, parenting, emotional expression, and societal expectations. Through direct, honest conversations and practical tools for emotional regulation, I support men in cutting through the noise, confronting what is not working and developing a more solid, present, and intentional way of being.

  • PTSD External link

Trauma can leave a lasting imprint on the brain and the nervous system, often showing up as ongoing fear, shame, or disconnection. In a supportive and protective space, we will work together to gently explore your experience, using tools for regulation, grounding practices and strategies to help your brain process and integrate what it has been holding. The goal is to move out of survival mode and toward a greater sense of safety, stability, and connection with yourself and the world around you.
