My Ideal Client

Therapy isn't about fixing you, it's about understanding you. For people who are hard on themselves, struggle in relationships, or feel caught in habits they want to change—this is a space to slow down, tune in, and rebuild. We will focus on healing attachment wounds, regulating your nervous system, and expanding your relational awareness. We will work toward more ease, joy, and acceptance. Let's explore how counseling can create a spark for a well-resourced life!

My Approach to Helping

My clients tell me I offer acceptance, insight, and a sense of humor. Authenticity is a core principle of mine and I will invite you to be yourself, too. My approach is dynamic, present, and connected. The therapeutic relationship is vital and I work to create a warm, collaborative space. By listening deeply and attuning to you, I can help you build self awareness, tune into your own experience, and reconnect with your inner wisdom. My clinical interests include addiction, family systems, relational issues, and trauma, among others. My style is integrative and includes Existential-Humanistic theories, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic approaches, and mind/body integration practices.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

Prior to graduate school, I worked in the performing arts. That experience grounds my counseling work in mindfulness and creativity. I have studied yoga and meditation for over 20 years, strengthening my personal practice and building my somatic awareness. I will bring a curiosity to our collaboration that orients from a social justice and multicultural perspective, which means that we will consider all aspects of your lived experience. I have studied addiction formally and informally for decades. I am interested in how it impacts loved ones and how we can continue to work toward destigmatization. I am relational in style (a focus on relationships), which also includes the counselor/client relationship. I am committed to creating an environment that is safe and where you will feel heard, respected, and valued. Through our collaboration and from a holistic perspective, we will take time to explore how counseling can best serve you.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Addiction Therapy External link

I have focused on addiction in my graduate work and post graduate internship. In addition to private practice, I also work in Residential Substance Use Disorder treatment. I will help you understand your relationship to substances, how trauma could be a factor, and addressing any ambivalence to change. I also work with the loved ones of people experiencing addiction.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Personal Growth External link

By building self-awareness, we can work toward aligning your behaviors with your values.

  • Drug Dependence / Abuse / Addiction External link

No matter where you are in your relationship to substances, we can work together to understand it better and help you determine next steps. If you love someone struggling with addiction, I can offer non-judgmental support and tools to help you navigate the relationship.

  • PTSD External link

PTSD can create mood changes, reactivity, and avoidance that can be disruptive to daily life. I can help you learn new coping skills and process emotional pain in session.

  • Anxiety External link

Using mindfulness and somatic practices, I can help you learn to manage anxiety in a more effective way.
