My Ideal Client

I work with millennial and Gen Z professionals of color and mixed race professionals, addressing frustrating, confusing, or possibly even traumatizing patterns at work, in their interpersonal relationships, and within their family/cultural lineage. If you’re drawn to working with me, you’re likely someone who’s in touch with their emotions, a high achiever (looking at you, my fellow “pleasure to have in class” people!), and ready to do the work of self-exploration.

What I Specialize In

My clients are millennial and Gen Z professionals of color and mixed race professionals who often describe the following to me: 1) Even though they're making a great salary, they often wonder if they're in the right job. They notice their bosses or co-workers willing to be cutthroat, and that's just now how they want to be, 2) They swore they wouldn't become workaholics, because that was never aligned with their values, but here they are...and it's been months since they've hung out with friends, been on a date, or had a relaxing day to themselves, OR 3) They feel disconnected from their family, not just because they haven't seen them in a while, but because they have a gut feeling something intense or traumatic happened to their parents, grandparents, or somewhere else in their lineage Are you ready for a change? Why I Became a Therapist

My training in trauma means I have expertise you need and deserve when processing work stress, generational wounds, and healing your relationships. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to be an ambitious, sensitive-hearted young professional struggling with work stress, right? I get it because I’ve lived it myself. I have devoted my career to working with multiply marginalized folks of color and mixed race folks. I know that sometimes you wonder, “Who am I outside of this job?” I know you grapple with trying to have hobbies again. So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who truly understands what you’re going through.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

EMDR is a powerful type of therapy that allows people to process intense things they’ve experienced, whether it’s stress, trauma, anxiety, or a variety of other experiences. EMDR helps the body and the mind move from a state of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn to a state of more grounded presence within oneself. I guide clients through addressing the negative beliefs they have about themselves to feeling deeper connection with their inner calm, compassion, and confidence.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Personal Growth External link

Because you’re a sensitive-hearted soul who’s had to suppress certain emotions, we take our time building trust and rapport so we can get to the heavy stuff. I often hear, “Reaching out to you and seeking therapy were big steps for me.” I help clients not only identify what triggers their work stress, but also notice their body’s responses. I guide you through the process of getting in touch with your inner world and listening to what it has to tell you.

  • Historical Trauma External link

You’ve had a sinking feeling for a long time that something happened somewhere in your lineage - whether it was your parents, your grandparents, or beyond - that has become a repetitive pattern. Maybe you’re typically a flexible or adaptable person, but you notice you feel sudden fear when you have to go somewhere that, for most other people, would be an “everyday” place to go. Maybe you’re typically a patient person who notices that you suddenly turn impatient and irritated with certain tasks.

  • Cultural and Systemic Oppression External link

There are many ways generational trauma can manifest in the body and mind. Clients have come to me saying things like: “I don’t know exactly what happened to my parents or grandparents, but I just have a feeling.” “No one wants to talk about what happened, but it’s so obvious something happened.” I work with clients to move from confusion and overwhelm to compassion, knowledge, and understanding of the body’s wisdom.
