My Ideal Client

If you want to understand yourself better, explore what's important to you, and have more confidence about where you are heading in life, please reach out. Maybe you were not raised to notice your feelings, or were so focused on doing what you were expected to do that you lost sight of yourself. When emotional needs are unseen, overlooked or disregarded, it can lead to anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, people pleasing, depression, and self neglect. Therapy can help you change this pattern.

My Background and Approach

I bring over 20 years of experience to my clinical practice and have advanced training in numerous evidence based practices including EMDR, PACT, AEDP, ACT, DBT, CBT, ART, CFT, among others. If you are not fluent in therapy acronyms, please go easy on yourself. At the end of the day, I am convinced that the relationship between client and therapist is the most important ingredient for change. That is why I begin by just getting to know you, understanding your needs, and then proceed with an approach that could help you. I studied Psychology & Spanish at the University of Notre Dame, then earned two Master's Degrees (MSW and MPA:HA). I value continuous learning, and strive to provide the most effective therapy possible. My therapy style is down to earth, collaborative, and interactive.

My Values as a Therapist

I believe that non-judgmental curiosity is a better teacher than self-blame and shame. I understand that harsh self criticism might be the language we learned early on, but I believe people can gain fluency in self-compassion if they are given the support they need. I am in awe of how resilient human beings can be. Time and again, I find people possess the innate wisdom and strength needed to navigate life's challenges. I recognize many people are conditioned out of connecting with their inner resources, but I believe it is possible to tap back into our own resources. It just takes time, adequate support, and practice.
