My Ideal Client

Are you someone currently struggling with obsessive thoughts or anxious rumination that interfere with your daily functioning or quality of life? Or maybe you're experiencing difficulty with your mood or having trouble managing anxious feelings? If so, there are evidence-based, effective treatments available.

My Approach to Helping

My approach is thorough, holistic, and person-centered. I consider myself a LGBTQIA+ ally with a trauma-informed approach. I utilize a combination of evidence-based medication, therapy, and natural options tailored to your unique needs. The specific treatment approach to your care is decided collaboratively. Some clients choose medication only, some prefer therapy without medication, and some would like to try both- all are great options! I am trained to deliver ERP therapy (Exposure and Response Prevention), the gold standard treatment for OCD, with an emphasis on ACT principles (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). Additionally, I offer CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and supportive therapy when appropriate.

ERP (exposure and response prevention) is used in a compassionate and collaborative way with clients. The first several sessions involve psychoeducation, identifying triggers, intrusive thoughts/urges/images, and compulsions or safety behaviors (ie: avoidance) that allow the OCD or anxiety to persist. Exposures are planned collaboratively, beginning with lower-anxiety producing triggers while resisting compulsions and safety behaviors. Medication management is also offered.
