My Approach to Helping
With a foundation in trauma therapy, I also provide my clients with humanistic, person-centered, and feminist-based therapy tailored to their individual needs. Anti-oppression, feminist-focused clinical work focuses on recognizing the impact of systemic oppression, power dynamics, and social context on an individual's experience of trauma. My approach emphasizes empowerment, validation, and autonomy, centering on your lived experience.
I draw from an integrative approach where I employ different modalities to tailor my services to fit your needs. Modalities I offer: Person-centered Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, mindfulness training, safety planning, risk assessment, somatic therapy, and trauma-informed care. My specialties include complex trauma, PTSD, interpersonal violence, and sexual assault.
Together, we can create a genuine, open, honest, mutually respectful relationship built on trust where you can grow freely and focus on deep healing.
Why I Became a Therapist
I chose mental health counseling after years of personal reflection and growth, shaped by my evolving values, beliefs, and goals. Therapy has been a transformative force in my own life—helping me navigate trauma, loss, and change—and I hope to offer that same sense of safety and healing to others. My passion for social justice has always been a central part of who I am, and now, through humanistic and feminist-informed counseling, I have the privilege of creating change on an individual level.
Much of my clinical experience has centered on supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I approach this work through a trauma-informed, anti-racist, and empowerment-based lens. I am deeply passionate about this population because violence disproportionately affects those who are already marginalized, and I believe survivors deserve space to process their trauma, reclaim their power, rewrite their narratives, and heal on their own terms.
