My Ideal Client

You may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or unsure where you belong. I work with adolescents, young adults, and families navigating anxiety, identity exploration, life transitions, relationship challenges, neurodivergence, adoption-related experiences, and the impact of systems that haven't always made space for who they are. Together we'll create a space where all parts of you are welcome and where growth can happen at a pace that feels sustainable.

My Approach to Helping

I believe healing and change happens through awareness, relationship, curiosity, and meaningful connection with ourselves and others. My approach is grounded in Gestalt therapy, which means we pay attention not only to your story, but also to your present-moment experience including your emotions, body sensations, relationships, and patterns that may no longer serve you. Therapy with me is collaborative rather than prescriptive. Together we'll identify goals, explore what is getting in the way, and build greater awareness of the strengths and wisdom you already possess. Depending on your needs, our work may include processing emotions, exploring identity, strengthening relationships, developing coping strategies, and reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been ignored or pushed aside. As a Black transracial adoptee and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I value creating a space where clients can show up authentically and feel seen in the fullness of their experiences.

My Values as a Therapist

My role is not to tell my clients who they should become, but to create a space where they can better understand who they already are. Some of my greatest lessons about growth, trust, and connection have come from working with animals, particularly horses. Horses have a way of responding honestly to what we bring into relationship, and they have taught me the value of curiosity, patience, authenticity, and presence. Those same values shape my work as a therapist. I strive to create an affirming environment where clients can bring their full selves into the room and feel respected, challenged, and supported throughout the therapeutic process. If you're feeling ready to explore any or all of this, I'm here with an outstretched hand.

I have a particular passion for working with adoptees, especially transracial adoptees. At the heart of adoption is ruptured attachment which can shape how we understand ourselves, our relationships, our identities, and our place in the world. Whether you are exploring questions of race, culture, family relationships, attachment, belonging, loss, or life transitions, therapy can provide a space to make meaning of those experiences without pressure to fit anyone else's narrative about adoption.
