My Ideal Client

I treat patients from all mental health backgrounds. Many patients are referred to me for second opinions on their diagnosis and treatment plan. Some patients are referred to me after having less-than-optimal experience with other psychiatrists or PMHNPs (i.e. feeling their concerns were dismissed or questioning the experience level of their clinician). Patients overall seek me out when they need someone who genuinely listen and takes their concerns seriously.

My Background

I am a board-certified psychiatrist (M.D.) trained at OHSU in Portland, OR. Your experience is uniquely your own, but I can confidently state that I have successfully treated patients struggling with a similar mental health background. I have helped patients overcome “treatment-resistant” depression and suicidal thoughts. I have guided patients with extreme anxiety and agoraphobia to leave their homes and live independent lives. I have treated veterans with combat-related PTSD. I have helped teenagers with ADHD improve their academics. I have treated patients grappling with psychosis and bipolar mania return to become themselves again.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe mental healthcare should be collaborative. A psychiatrist should listen to your concerns and preferences, and build a treatment plan around your values and goals. I believe in offering medications and recommendations - I do not push anything on my patients. Mental healthcare is about achieving our full, unique potential. It is more than just reducing symptom burden, it is about optimizing our well-being in order to live a fulfilling life.
